Kayland Hagwood is an Emmy-nominated weekend morning anchor and reporter for WCNC Charlotte with close to a decade of journalism experience.

She has covered multiple high profile murder trials, including that of Alex Murdaugh, reported live from the South Carolina coast during Hurricane Ian, and investigated the performance of South Carolina schools.

 

Since joining the WCNC team, Kayland's weekend broadcasts have seen significant and consistent growth, increasing by double and triple percentages.

In her free time, Kayland volunteers with nonprofits and presents to up-and-coming journalists.
